Mushrooms Health benefits

Edible mushrooms are used extensively in cooking, in many cuisines (notably Chinese, European, and Japanese). Though mushrooms are commonly thought to have little nutritional value, many species are high in fibre and provide vitamins such as thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, biotin, cobalamins, ascorbic acid. Mushrooms are also a source of some minerals, including iron, selenium, potassium and phosphorous.

High in Fibre and Protein : Mushrooms are high in fibre and protein. It also helps to lower high blood pressure as it is rich in potassium.

Easily Digestible : Mushrooms are easily digestible. 

Mushroom’s great for skin: Mushrooms are great for maintaining youthful skin.

Easily flavored : Mushrooms absorb flavor immediately, as it is like a sponge which soaks the water. Hence no matter what gravy or seasoning you add it takes on the flavor nicely.

Mushrooms sauté : Mushrooms can be sautéed or grilled with olive oil with salt and pepper and added in your salad. It is a great snack on its own as well. It cooks within 2-3 minutes.

How to clean Mushroom : Mushrooms are easy to clean. We have to remember that mushrooms are like sponge and soak water, therefore it is best to wipe them with wet cloth or towel.

Precautions to take : Mushrooms can easily give food poisoning if it is not used with 2-3 days of packaging. Always buy fresh mushrooms and use it immediately. Buy mushrooms when required.
